WTF am I posting on Linkedin?

For the past 6 months, I've been trying to post here consistently.

Lately, when chatting with mates and colleagues they ask me. "Why Bother?"

Fair question. Here's why I'm doing it:

- I'm bad at getting out there to network in person. So, I do this in tiny doses most days instead. I do believe in personal connections opening doors.

- I'm trying to remain available, approachable, and human. (With all my flaws, and sometimes 'boomer' opinions🤣)

- I know many of my business partners - wholesalers, factories, and service providers spend some time here. So, I'm at mass trying to build & maintain my relationships with them (at their leisure). (Hopefully not damaging their opinions of me!).

- For me, business has never been just business, business has always been personal.

- If one of my business partners talks to me about my Linkedin posting, usually, this encourages me to continue to post. Because, they've been seeing my activity, and hence, I'm occupying a little bit of their brain.

Some mates have said, I should keep it industry specific.

I haven't done that, because, I don't like constantly being sold to, and, I like getting to know the people behind the businesses I work with.

I also don't like constantly selling.

I'm trying to give you little glimpses of who I am (with filters of cours!), how I think, and what motivates me.

What do I have to show for the effort?

- I've met, and had a few doors open that I don't think would have if I had not been making this effort.

- I've built a little network of people I regularly interact with on Linkedin. I've been enjoying getting to know them, and they've been getting to know me. We're 'Linkedin Friends'.

- Every time I post, anyone who is trying to sell me something usually remembers to follow me up. 😀

- I've opened at least one new wholesaler account, because of Linkedin.

- I've helped at least a few people get their camping kit sorted.

Do you post on Linkedin? Why not? If you do, why do you post?

Do you think my reasons for posting are valid?
