Week 61 of TechNewsWithARA - Weekly news dump on Sundays, this week very late as the wedding season started over the weekend. The idea is to keep posting the top news about ProductManagement and general Technology.

Google has launched the AI Edge Gallery app, enabling Android users to download and run AI models - like text generation, image creation, and code writing - directly on their phones without internet connectivity. The availability of the app in India hasn't been spoken about yet. But yes, it will be a pretty cool thing for retail users like ourselves who can then use it on flights, during hikes, and much more.

Builder.ai faked business with Indian firm VerSe to inflate sales, through โ€œround-trippingโ€ transactions. The company has already filed for bankruptcy after taking a huge amount of funding from Microsoft. This is the same company that came in news when their "Natasha AI" bot was nothing but 700 Indian developers writing code in the backend. Kudos to those developers for the rapidness though.

CARS24 & Spinny. CRED has integrated instant car valuation and resale into its Garage feature, letting users check their carโ€™s market value and sell it digitally via CARS24 and Spinny. I'm very curious to understand what's the plan here. Cred has been going over the Garage market for a while now, which doesn't have a lot of synergy with either their Fintech play or their D2C Play. The one logical reasoning I can think of is lending for car loans to their affluent users.

Well, by now you all have read this news - there were some hygiene related issues at their Dharavi warehouse. But honestly, read that line again, does it at all surprise you? Do you think, in our country, all these other warehouses, restaurant kitchens, and even kirana shops are clean? Do you think in Dharavi of all places even half of them would pass these tests? It's a sad state of affairs, but it's not a surprising state. I still don't blame Quick Commerce for this, I have seen how the More Supermarket near my house kept their items, it's not better.
