We've made the switch from Semrush to Ahrefs!

I’ll be honest, I never thought we’d actually do it. We were so comfortable and familiar with Semrush that switching platforms felt like a major risk.

But after making the move to Ahrefs, I can confidently say it’s been a fantastic decision.

One of our main concerns was the credits system and the risk of running out and having to pay extra.

However, Ahrefs recently scrapped their credit system, removing a big barrier for us – and making the platform even more user-friendly.

Since switching, everything from day-to-day SEO research to new business proposal building has become noticeably smoother.

Our senior team members have already got to grips with the new features and have started training the wider team for the first time this week, it is great to see everyone picking it up so quickly.

Some of my personal favourite Ahrefs features so far:
✅ Lightning-fast link database updates - it’s incredible how quickly you can get fresh backlink data.
✅ Content Explorer - making it easier than ever to find relevant content and outreach opportunities at scale.
✅ Site Audit historic changes - allowing us to easily see on-page updates competitors are making over time (a real game-changer for competitive analysis!).
✅ Advanced filters in Site Explorer - making deep-dive SEO audits far more targeted and efficient.
✅ Internal Link Opportunities tool - something we’re starting to use heavily to improve client website structures.

Another big bonus has been their YouTube channel, packed with genuinely useful, practical SEO tutorials.

I’ve spent hours watching and learning new tips and workflows, which have helped me (and the team) get even more value from the platform.

I've also been putting Ahrefs to the test on a few of my personal SEO side projects, giving me even more hands-on experience with its full capabilities, and I’m seriously impressed with the results so far!

Ultimately, switching to Ahrefs will allow us to continue raising the bar across our work:
✅ Better research
✅ Stronger data analysis
✅ More detailed reporting
✅ Smarter internal decision-making

All leading to better results and growth for our clients, which is always our number one focus.
