We rolled out an updated AI for writing policy this week at Animalz.

It's pretty simple โ€” don't use AI for drafting content.

Use it for learning
Use it for research (and fact check it)
Use it to check your industry language
Use it to review a piece of canonical context (voice/tone, messaging, etc) against your draft
Use it to spot the weakest sections
The list is still long

Just don't use it for drafting.

At the start of the year, we were more liberal to AI usage. It didn't used to interfere as much with our quality standards. Not it clearly does.

Plus watermarking fears
Plus it doesn't perform as well in search
Plus people are better at spotting it
Plus first principles โ€”ย we're in the business of building people to people relationships.

@ me in the comments if you want the policy to copy for your own team.

Thanks Dana Cass (our managing editor) for leading the effort.
