Very, very surprised by Swiggy Black's ad in today's The Economic Times (not even The Times of India)! Delhi edition. The tone is very un-Swiggy-like and more of Dilli-ka-launda vibes that Zomato usually gets away with. The one occasion Zomato did not get away was the November 2017 billboard that had a very similar idea like this Swiggy ad, riffing on a Hindi slur/abuse. That billboard caused so much outrage that Zomato eventually removed it and apologized for it too.

So, it is all the more surprising that Swiggy did not seem to either remember that Zomato incident or learn from it and simply went ahead with this creative.
