Usually don’t bother about these things but someone forwarded me link of a brand called moderate and how they appeared on shark tank and I guess they also raised funds from some of the sharks.

This is wrong. Supporting such products on national TV is not good.

Went to the company website-> science page. The claims about 40% calorie reduction are wrong and have no study to support this.

The claims about glycemic control don’t really matter as ACV can help achieve the same. They reduce glucose spikes via inhibiting enzymes that break down carbs. The problem with enzyme inhibitors is that in the short term they can delay gastric emptying, preventing large spikes but in the long run, they can lead to enzyme suppression and reduction. And one will have to increase dosage further, leading to even bigger gut disbalance.

There is no longitudinal data on safety. The study itself was short, with few participants and not to mention funding biases.

All in all, I feel that sharks need to behave responsibly on national TV. What they endorse can affect people’s health and longevity and the onus would be on them.

The founders are welcome to have a tech discussion on this topic.
