Update: Broomees India has reached out

I wanted to provide an update to my earlier post regarding the serious concerns I had raised about the background verification of the 24-hour helper placed with us.

After my post, the Broomees team reached out to me and offered a solution and assured me that the matter would be addressed appropriately.

I appreciate the team taking the matter seriously and reaching out to resolve the concern.

That said, I continue to believe that background verification and safety protocols for domestic help need to be extremely robust, particularly when staff are being placed in homes with children and families.

My original concern was not simply about receiving poor customer service. It was about the lack of an immediate and appropriate response when a serious safety-related concern was brought to the company’s attention.

I am glad that the team has now engaged and is working towards a resolution. I hope this experience also helps strengthen Broomees’ internal escalation and verification processes so that other families do not have to go through a similar situation.

Thank you Vaibhav!

Earlier Post: I am extremely disappointed with the way Broomees India has handled a matter concerning the safety and background verification of domestic help.

We engaged Broomees for a 24-hour helper, trusting that a professional agency would conduct the necessary background checks and due diligence before sending someone into our home and around our family.

However, we subsequently came to know that the husband of the helper sent to us has multiple criminal cases/charges against him. We immediately brought this serious concern to the attention of the Broomees team and expected urgent investigation, clarification, and appropriate action.

What has been even more disappointing is the lack of a meaningful response or appropriate action from the Broomees team even after being informed.

When an agency is responsible for placing domestic staff in people’s homes—especially homes with children—background verification and safety cannot be treated as a box-ticking exercise. Families trust such agencies precisely because they expect proper screening and accountability.

This is not simply about poor customer service. It is about trust, due diligence, and the safety of families.

I would urge Broomees India to:

* Clarify what background verification was actually conducted before placing the helper with us.
* Explain whether family/household-related risks are considered as part of their screening process.
* Take appropriate action after being informed of the concerns.
* Improve their escalation and customer-safety processes so that such complaints receive an immediate and serious response.

I am sharing this publicly because I believe companies providing domestic-help services have a responsibility to maintain robust verification standards and transparent safety protocols.… more
