To everyone worried about AI and the noise around “SEO is dead” ...
I come from a generation that saw:
- exact-match domains ruling the SERPs
- 3-way link exchange was everything you needed to rank
- Mobile-first indexing meant a huge shift in the way websites were made
- used to analyse m. versions of e-com giants to make our SEO strategy (yes, it was before responsive websites were a common thing)
- Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, not just animal names, but hum SEOs ki duniya hila dene wale algorithmic earthquakes..
And now, AI-integrated search experiences, LLMs, SGE & ChatGPT
Every few years, someone says SEO is dead.
And every time, SEO comes back smarter, deeper, and more strategic.
What’s changed is this:
SEO, never was about tricking the algorithm. And now it's all the more about connecting with the user at her "exploring the solution stage" of search. Be it on Google, Bing, ChatGPT, Perplexty, Bard or anywhere.. Call it SEO .. no, actually the new terms AEO, GEO or whatever.. fundamentals are going to be the same.
So no, SEO is not dead. It’s just growing up.
And, woah, here I’m so proud to have grown alongside it for 16 years. :)
