Consumer brands are experiencing rapid growth online, with the online FMCG market projected to grow at a rate of 35.2% CAGR and the online fashion market at 31.5% CAGR between 2020 and 2025.
Key trends in the Indian D2C industry include omni-channel experiences, social commerce, ONDC, and flexible payment options.
Top performers from our portfolio in the D2C segment include AloFrut, a fresh juices and beverage company which raised funds from Emami Ltd and Venture Catalysts. FASHOR, an online fashion brand, raised $2.91 million from Sprout Venture Partners and Spotlight Capital Holdings Inc. Join Ventures, a startup that builds digital-first brands and platforms with AI-powered experiences, raised $33.5 million from DSG Consumer Partners and Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd Private Equity. LetsTry, a snack brand, raised $170k from key investors like Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Prateek Nijhawan, and Prateek Sabharwal. Monrow Shoes, a shoe brand, raised around $2.32 million from Blume Ventures and LetsVenture. MYFITNESS, a brand offering a range of peanut butter, raised $2.23 million and was then acquired by Mensa Brands. RENÉE Cosmetics, a beauty brand, raised $38.7 million from Evolvence India and Equanimity Investments. Trunativ, a natural products nutrition brand, raised about $1.5 million from Emami and 9Unicorns.
These companies attracted funding from top industry investors, and their growth trajectory is expected to keep rising in the coming years.
