The Economic Times should explain, what its editorial staff exists for when such misleading headlines and reports are published by their team so liberally.

- The headline clearly says that five global varsities are going to set up campuses in Navi Mumbai

- And right below that, in the very first paragraph, the report confirms that the global varsities have not said any such thing, and have only signed a Letter of Interest (LoI)

And we all know it very well that a LoI means nothing, because tens of such have also been signed in the past, none of which have ever materialised.

..

Everytime, the nation is facing any challenges, be it Air India crash crisis, Manipur that continues to burn, or so on and on and on, such false and misleading reports end up diverting attention of the people from where it should be.

India’s TV media is already a place where nothing of merit comes for public consumption.

And it’s a pain to see the print media also consistently passing down the same lane.

..

In that context, is it even a wonder that more and more people are beginning to subscribe to names like The Morning Context, The Ken and many more, as way higher subscription prices, only to ensure that whatever little they consume has merit.

- And this is also the very reason that creators are gaining credibility share that was once enjoyed by the media

- Look at what a sensation names like Kavya Karnatac
, Mohak Mangal
, Think School ® (Parsh & Ganeshprasad) etc have become

- A big reason behind their rise is media as we know it today. People have found in such creators the authenticity that they once looked up to the media for

But the outcome? Instead of bettering their execution and playbook, they are increasingly turning to see themselves as content creators.

It’s really quite sad how steeply the traditional Indian news media, TV/print is going down.
