It’s a surreal moment. What began as a humble finance blog back in 2019 has, over the last few months, transformed into a full-fledged AI platform for finance and accounting professionals.
The insight that led us to build Chop Finance was simple.
Coming from an investment banking background and being a Chartered Accountant myself, I’ve seen firsthand the amount of non-billable grunt work junior professionals are buried under. Hours spent compiling files, drafting responses, sifting through data, building Excel models, and more. These tasks are important, but far from strategic.
That’s when we made the leap to build Chop Finance. It’s a generative AI-native platform designed to supercharge the workflows of finance and accounting professionals through agentic capabilities. Our mission is to eliminate repetitive grunt work and empower professionals to focus on what truly matters: advisory, strategic analysis, and high-impact decision-making.
In our pilot phase, we’ve worked closely with some of the leading CA firms in India, and the results have been clear. Key workflows like tax research, notice reply drafting are now running over 70% faster with Chop Finance.
We’ve also partnered with Zoho to explore deep integrations within its finance suite, aiming to bring AI-powered workflows to thousands of startups.
Interestingly, we’re probably one of the few startups registered in Guwahati, Assam, to be backed by a VC. We chose to build from here because we found unexpected early traction for our product within multiple departments of the Assam Government. That kind of validation is rare for an early-stage startup.
