💰 Should startups always raise as much as they can?

According to Marc Andreessen, not quite.

Instead, he recommends using the Onion Theory of Risk:

Peel away a layer of risk with each funding round.
🔹 Seed – Prove the founding team, product idea, and initial launch.
🔹 Series A – Demonstrate traction and a scalable revenue model.
🔹 Series B+ – Validate your cost structure and show signs of market leadership.

The goal? Raise just enough to hit key milestones, reduce major risks, and position yourself for the next round, without taking on unnecessary dilution.

💡 Fund strategically, not just generously.
