Search Engine Land has been acquired by Semrush.

My gut reaction to seeing this? I'm not thrilled.

Having seen mass M&As go down in the language industry before I left, having a neutral source of industry news being owned by a B2B company is never a great idea as it can lead to those lines of neutrality becoming blurred.

And will this mean that other SEO SaaS companies still get the same equal access to Third Door Media's events, publications, etc.?

I guess all we have to do is wait and see ๐Ÿ‘€
