Run an eCommerce store? Here are 2 link-building methods that’ll get you to page 1. 👇

Method #1 - A hidden goldmine: "Where to Buy" pages

Run this search: [brand name] intitle:("where to buy" OR "stockists" OR "stockist")

If you have Ahrefs, dump one of your competitors into site explorer and go to the Backlink Report.

Then filter for the following keywords in their page title “where to buy”, “stockists” and “stockist”.

You can also search for:

• Best [Product Category] [Year]... like best hair straightener 2025
• Top [Product Category] reviews… like top wearable device reviews
• And Comparison of [Product Category]... “comparison of air fryers”

You’re looking for articles with “where to buy” sections. These rank better when they’re more complete, so they’re happy to include your link.

Reach out with this simple script:

"Hi [Name],
I'm [Your Name] at [Your Brand].
I wanted to know if you have a process for getting listed on your where to buy page? We sell [product range] and would love to be included.
Thanks, [Your Name]"

Method #2 - Unlinked brand/product mentions that ACTUALLY work

Set up Google Alerts for your brand and product names to catch new mentions.

For existing mentions, use Ahrefs Content Explorer:

• Search your brand name in quotes
• Click "Highlight unlinked" and enter your domain
• Filter by "One page per domain"
• Sort by traffic to prioritize high-value opportunities

When reaching out, don't just ask for a link - offer value:

• Free samples
• Provide testimonials
• Suggest content repurposing ideas
• Offer exclusive content like whitepapers
• Create interactive tools they can embed
