Over the last few years, Iโve had the chance to visit ๐ญ๐ฑ๐ฌ+ ๐ด๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น๐ across ๐ฏ ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐
I've walked into classrooms where:
*Students sit on the floor because there are no benches
*Girls skip school during their cycle because the toilets are unusable
*Teachers manage 5 grades at once or donโt show up at all, in some there is one teacher over 100+ students
*The electricity connection exists, but the fan hasn't worked in months
And yet, in the middle of all this,
youโll find a โ๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐๐โ setup, locked in a cupboard.
A PAL Lab. A stack of tablets. An AI dashboard login sheet filled out manually.
Thatโs when the contradiction hits you in the gut.
Now step into ๐๐๐ฑ ๐ด๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ:
1.28 lakh crore allocated to education up 6.5%
But hereโs what gets sidelined:
Crumbling classrooms
Broken toilets
Vacant teaching posts
โก Non-functional electricity in schools that are supposed to be โsmartโ
So hereโs the real question:
Are we solving for learning or just launching?
Tech can transform learning, yes but not when itโs used to mask foundational neglect.
You canโt fix poor attendance with tablets.
You canโt fix trust deficits with dashboards.
And no amount of adaptive learning can replace a motivated, trained teacher in a safe, functioning school.
Real reform means starting with the basics:
1. Fix the roof.
2. Hire and support teachers.
3. Build trust with communities.
4.๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ผ๐ป๐น๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ป bring in EdTech to amplify learning
Until then, dashboards and devices will remain
