Zombie pages are those pages that generate ZERO traffic and add no value to the users. They sit there on your site, dragging your site down.
Example: An old product page no one visits anymore β no views, no clicks, just clutter.
On my site BloggersPassion, I've published over 1500 posts over the last couple of years.
When my site got hit with Google updates a few years ago (a Core update from Google), I removed all the zombie pages.
Surprisingly, within a few weeks, my traffic went up!
Now, my site only has 554 posts (down from over 1500!).
And I'm making sure to update the quality of existing posts.
2 quick tips:
- Audit your content regularly β if itβs not bringing value or traffic, remove it.
- Focus on quality over quantity β one solid post beats ten mediocre ones.
