So here's the real zinger:
If it's unsafe for expecting mothers and babies… why is it still casual food for the rest of us?
MSG (monosodium glutamate) and artificial sweeteners like acesulfame potassium aren't new to the food scene. What is new is how blatantly brands are beginning to admit it right there on the screen. In plain-ish sight. Only visible if you're really looking.
Transparency is welcome. But let’s not confuse “disclosed risk” with “acceptable risk.”
For a country heading toward a nutrition crisis, where junk food habits are outpacing health literacy, is this enough?
It’s time to move conversations from just taste and price to ingredients and long-term impact.
