His reason? Unforgettable.
It wasn’t because he didn’t like it. He looked at the gift, smiled, and said:
“I don’t need this. You can save the money… or invest it in yourself in becoming a better person.”
Then he added:
“Buy good food. Take care of your health. Get supplements if needed. You’re earning now and that’s enough for me.”
That moment hit me hard.
I expected the joy of giving but what I received was something far more valuable: wisdom.
It made me realize something profound : Our parents don’t really care about material gifts.
They just want to see us healthy, growing, and turning into good human beings.
That refusal wasn’t rejection.
It was love — in its purest and most selfless form.
In the end, becoming a better version of myself is the real gift he wants.
