My dad refused the gift I bought with my first salary.
His reason? Unforgettable.

It wasn’t because he didn’t like it. He looked at the gift, smiled, and said:

“I don’t need this. You can save the money… or invest it in yourself in becoming a better person.”

Then he added:
“Buy good food. Take care of your health. Get supplements if needed. You’re earning now and that’s enough for me.”

That moment hit me hard.
I expected the joy of giving but what I received was something far more valuable: wisdom.

It made me realize something profound : Our parents don’t really care about material gifts.
They just want to see us healthy, growing, and turning into good human beings.

That refusal wasn’t rejection.
It was love — in its purest and most selfless form.

In the end, becoming a better version of myself is the real gift he wants.
