The truth is, I’ve had some help along the way from people who really know their stuff.
If you’re curious about how I’ve been able to write for well-known clients and steadily build my LinkedIn presence, here are 10 courses I've taken that made a real difference for me. They might just be the stepping stones that you need too.
1. Impactful Social Writing by Erica Schneider and Kasey Jones 🏔: First course I took and still my fav. Gave me the confidence and push I needed to start posting on LinkedIn.
2. How to Edit by Ryan Law ($199): Brilliant course that teaches you how to edit your own content with great tips on developmental and copy-editing.
3. How to Write Thought Leadership Content by Ryan Law ($199): Teaches you frameworks for ideation, writing techniques to improve credibility, persuasiveness and memorability. Loved it for my LinkedIn content strategy.
4. Content Theory by Tommy Walker: Great course to understand how to create a content strategy from start to finish. Exactly what I needed to start offering startegy services.
5. AI Content Reactor 3.0 by Rob Lennon: Yes I know it's blasphemous for me to say I use AI to help me out with my content, but I don't want the robots to replace me in 5 years. So I'm using this course to learn prompting. Plus it's making me consider a career shift to AI lol.
6. Hooked on Writing Hooks by Erica Schneider and Rob Lennon ($149): Beast of a course that helps you write LinkedIn hooks with AI.
7. Content Editing 101 by Erica Schneider and Rob Lennon ($149): You learn the fundamentals of editing AND how to edit with AI. Enough said.
8. Pitch & Prosper (£149) by Lizzie Davey: Pitching course complete with pitch scripts, tutorials on how to find clients, and a tracker for your leads.
9. What Goes Into a £1,000 piece? by Lizzie Davey (£59): Lizzie shows you her exact process on how she creates content for clients like Shopify. Great way to get inside the brain of one of the top writers in the field.
10. Research Like a Pro System by Safiyyah (Saphia) Lanier: Excellent course on how to improve your research process so you can write better content.
Here you go! These are my top recs.
Courses are absolutely an investment in yourself. They might not pay off immediately, but they absolutely will pay off eventually.
Let me know what you think! I’d love some recs on courses you found helpful too. 🤓
P.S. I'm not getting anything out of promoting these courses. These are all courses I've bought, gone through, and applied.
Also, you may notice some prices are missing—the creators might be updating them, so I haven’t added what I paid to prevent discrepancies. 😊
