I was reading a blog from Ahrefs where they talked about how Google Translate is hosting translated pages.
After AIO, when someone searches in their local language and if AIO lacks local-language content, Google resorts to auto-translating English-language content. ๐
I checked this for some top domains like HubSpot where they are losing somewhere around 25.2K traffic with 10178 pages.
BTW this traffic trend is declining - earlier Google was stealing somewhere around 69K traffic. ๐ถ
AND, if we check country wise then India has got the highest negative impact
How can you check if Google is stealing your traffic?
i) Check with any third-party tool like Ahrefs or SEMrush.
ii) Add the translate . google . com
iii) In the top pages filter, add your domain name.
iv) You can see the translated version of your webpages.
Also, check the GSC for the translated page search appearance. - check the trend if its projection is positive or negative. ๐ค
Have you checked this? Is your domain getting hit by Google Translate?
