Some key insights :
✅ The Top 25 Spenders account for about 25% or the total Adex which is upwards of 100,000 Crore now
✅ The top 2 advertisers Unilever and Reckitt are still super bullish about TV as a medium and will continue to be while they continue to grow on digital
✅ What’s really interesting to see that India is the only country in the world where the % of growth is approximately over 13%
✅ New brands like Dream11 and Groww are in the top 20 biggest spenders with a Games24x7 inching close in the top 25 too
✅ FMCG continues to be the biggest category and it’s Darshanbhai’s Vini Cosmetics (BD) Ltd which is massive on TV is in the top 20
✅ Food delivery apps just about 10 years old Zomato and Swiggy should be about the same spends as tech giant Google which says a lot about the India story
✅ Auto is the 2 largest category and homegrown Tata Motors Mahindra Group Hero MotoCorp the big guns
✅ UltraTech Cement in a category that one would imagine have few spends dominates with SRK and grows over 30% in terms of Y-O-Y spends
▶️ For these 50 top advertisers while they spend across mediums, their average spends on digital are over 30% now
▶️ 2 of our largest business groups Tata Group and Reliance Industries Limited across the group spends would contribute to about 15% of the total Adex
▶️ It’s also the Pan Masala brands that give opportunities for hundreds in the ecosystem with brand like Vimal spending about 650 Crores
▶️ Government and their initiatives continue to be in the big league of spenders and thus the importance of a DAVP and such bodies to foster these spends
These are the big guys that many of the new companies aspire to be, the ones because of which most of the media business thrive and clearly provide for the dream jobs for many
