Here are 8 reasons why unsubscribes are good metrics, and not bad:
(Save + Repost this before anything else ♻️)
1. Improving your list quality.
All of your disengaged, disinterested, inactive, and short-term subscribers will be removed from your list.
Meaning that you have more subscribers who want your email content.
2. Shows True Fans.
Since you have more engaged subscribers, you can send them valuable & engaging content that you know they'll enjoy.
Plus, you'll see an improvement in your open, clicks, and possible purchase rates.
3. Removes Fake Fans.
Let's say goodbye to those who only joined your subscriber list for a quick 15% discount.
They probably wanted to give your product/service a try and aren't ready to commit. It's okay to let go of them.
4. Reducing Marketing Costs.
Don't forget that most Email Service Providers charge your brand by the size of your list.
If you are making around the same in revenue and saving your business a few dollars, your boss will have the smile of 100 suns.
5. Prevents Spam Complaints.
It's getting easier and easier to unsubscribe these days.
Unsubscribe > Spam Complaint all day.
This will lower the number of complaints and improve your deliverability.
Choose to have subscribers unsubscribe rather than getting all of your emails in the spam folder.
6. Maintains Legal Compliance.
First off, not including an unsubscribe button will be against CANSPAM & GDPR laws.
Gotta give people a way out of your email program or you'll get into some legal troubles.
7. Enhances Deliverability.
It's true because you'll have more engaged users receiving your campaigns and fewer complaints rolling in.
Letting mailbox providers like Gmail and Yahoo give you the green flag and a strong reputation with their servers. More emails in the inbox.
8. Reducing List Fatigue.
This will help with over-emailing your audience. We get so many different emails in our inbox. It's exhausting.
2 emails a week may be a lot for me. But not for another subscriber.
Look, unsubscribes are not a sign of failure.
It's a 100% natural and beneficial part of healthy email marketing.
Helping you refine your approach and focus on those who truly value your messages.
What would you add to my list?
