When they rejected our proposal, I was annoyed. The strategy was solid. The pricing was fair. But they were hung up on a few misplaced commas? Come on.
But looking back, it makes perfect sense:
Those typos silently communicated that I might miss important details in their work too. My sloppy document basically said, "This is how I'll represent YOUR business to the world."
And honestly? If I couldn't perfect my own proposal, why would they trust me with their content?
Instead of sending an angry email (which I definitely drafted), I took a step back and fixed my process.
This rejection taught me more about myself than anything else. Small details reflect your standards, your attention, and ultimately your care.
Now we have proper systems in place. Every document gets reviewed multiple times before reaching clients. Those "small details" aren't so small after all.
It's not just about grammar—it's about showing people they can trust you.
