Say “let me see what I can do.” That line alone changes careers.

Meetings fade. Memory fails. Good notes don’t.
5. Build reference points.
Know what great looks like — in design, writing, delivery, speed.
If you don’t know what “great” is, you’ll never hit it.
6. Don’t bring problems without options.
Even if both options are bad — bring something.
7. Show up prepared.
Never walk into a meeting hoping to figure it out during the call.
8. Learn the founder’s mental model.
If you want to grow in the company, understand how decisions are being made above you.
9. Solve for the business, not your task list.
The fastest way to become irreplaceable is to care about what actually moves revenue or impact.
10. Build trust vertically and sideways.
It’s not just your boss who decides your growth. It’s also the people who work with you.
11. Be obsessed with context.
Ask: “What happened before I joined?”
Ask: “What are we really trying to solve?”
People who ask for context always solve faster.
12. Growth doesn’t follow office hours.
Sometimes the conversation that changes everything happens after 6 p.m.
And if you’re always mentally checked out after a fixed hour, you’ll miss the stuff that actually pushes you forward.
13. Own documentation.
You become 10x more valuable when you write things down clearly, structure chaos, and make others’ work easier.
14. Think in systems.
If something broke, ask: “Why did it break?”
Then ask: “How can we make sure it never breaks again?”
15. Be the person they go to when it’s on fire.
Because if you’re only useful when it’s easy — you’re not that useful.

Not by asking for a raise every six months.
But by doing the work that makes you impossible to ignore.
