I wasn’t at the REITS - Asset Tokenisation Conclave 2025 in Mumbai last week.

But the conversations coming out of that room? They matter deeply to anyone building in real estate right now - especially those of us working at the edge of tech and ownership.

As the founder of a real estate platform focused on broadening access, I’ve been watching this shift closely. And frankly, it feels like the tide is finally turning - from bricks to blocks, quite literally.

A few years ago, fractional ownership and tokenisation felt like buzzwords being passed around tech conferences. Today, they’re showing up in serious policy conversations, with SEBI weighing in, seasoned legal minds refining the frameworks, and legacy real estate names embracing innovation. That’s a big deal.

What stood out to me (even from a distance):

+ G.N. Bajpai's message about democratising real estate for everyday investors is something I live and breathe. We need to stop designing this asset class for the top 1% and start thinking in terms of accessibility, liquidity, and digital trust.

+ Shri Pramod Rao's clarity on separating regulated REITs from emerging tokenisation models shows regulators are listening. The path ahead may still be evolving, but there’s clearly a seat at the table for tech-led solutions - if we’re serious about compliance and investor protection.

And the industry panels? They’re no longer asking if tokenisation will happen, but how to make it viable, secure, and scalable.

This is exactly the kind of alignment we need between innovation, capital, and policy. It’s not just about new platforms or clever code. It’s about building a future where anyone - from a salaried professional to a young couple planning for retirement - can own a piece of real estate, transparently and meaningfully.

Even though I wasn’t in the room at ITC Grand Central, I feel more confident than ever that we’re on the right path. Real estate isn’t just being built differently - it’s being owned differently.

Here’s to more open doors, smarter frameworks, and a truly inclusive future of real estate.
