I vibe coded a free web tool to find generic alternatives for medicines in India.
You type any brand medicine name. It shows the active composition and other brands with the same ingredients available in India.

I built this tool in a day. No coding background. Just AI, and the intention to solve a problem I was facing.

Here is why I built it.

I paid ₹500 for a 10 ml eye drop I would use just 6 times. Twice a day for 3 days.

I knew a lower-cost version had to exist with the same active ingredient. But when I went looking, I found several pharmacy apps, ad-heavy websites, and tools that made me create an account before showing me anything. I also couldn't find a simple way to search for that eye drop by its composition.

This experience made me think about how much my family and I, especially my parents, were paying on medicines every month. And I realised that I could reduce the cost by opting for generic alternatives.

As there was no simple, clean tool where I could type a brand medicine name and instantly see other brands with the same composition. So I built one.

This is what vibe coding actually looks like. You describe the problem clearly to an AI. You iterate. You test. You publish.

A single HTML file. Built using Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini. Hosted on Netlify. Start to finish, one day. Live, publicly hosted, and free for anyone to use.

If you have any idea for a tool or an app, go ahead and build it with vibe coding. If I can do it with almost zero coding knowledge, anyone can.

Note: This tool does not offer medical advice. Always consult a doctor before switching medicines.
