It's my "daily driver" when it comes to code assistance.
I like that it works in both modes:
1) Autocomplete, right within VS Code
2) Agent/chat mode
I've been a paid user for a long time, (I'm a paid user of many other AI coding tools too).
But, here's what got my attention recently:
The paid version of Cursor was $20/month (money well spent). But they launched a "Max" tier that is $200/month (still money well spent).
Cursor gets bonus points for the clever (and truthful) copywriting on the upgrade option to Max.
It explicitly says: "For advanced users that are cost insensitive."
I just found that "cost insensitive" part to be super-compelling. Speaks directly to buyers like me. There are some tools where I get so much value, compared to the price, that I truly am insensitive to the price. Cursor is one of those tools (ChatGPT is another).
Lesson here for entrepreneurs: Don't be afraid to charge more if you are delivering exceptional value.
Also, don't be afraid to speak directly to your target customer with things that make them nod their head and self-select.
