From the last $500 in Bank, no buyers, no VC interest to heavily contested Series B, powering customers like Deliveroo, Myntra, Meesho, and becoming the largest Indian B2B acquisition by a global giant - Stripe - in three and a half years. That's the story of Recko | A Stripe company.
One thing which stood out for me during all these years was how serious and dedicated both Saurya and Prashant were to building a great company.
100% of their life revolved around their office, home and a restaurant next door (all of these places were in the radius of 200 meters) in Koramangala. I don't remember them taking any vacation or attending any family function during that time. Prashant literally got married over a weekend.
I saw great character, integrity and fairness in every decision they took even when they were struggling and did not have any customers or investors. Be it around governance, fund raising, hiring, compensating people, product building or during the acquisition.
Recko | A Stripe company is a great example of a company built with strong fundamental values and it was very much required for this story to come out. People who aspire to do/build things the right way should know there is light at the end of the tunnel and they must not stop.
Thanks to Siddhartha and Neon Fund for covering Recko's story. Do give it a watch :) Link in the comments.
PS: I have lived with Saurya and Prashant.
