With the rise of GenAI, Technical SEO Product Managers and Technical SEOs in general, are going to be in high demand. There are not enough qualified professionals to keep with the demand currently rising on the market.
Every time I interview people for Technical SEO roles—and I've extensively helped build in-house teams for mid to large businesses—, less than 5% makes the cut; and I've experienced and received reports from colleagues saying it can take 6 months to a year to find a qualified professional with these skills.
If your business has a skilled Technical SEO Product Manager, I'd suggest you make sure they're willing to stay around for a while. It's going to be a fun poaching game to watch.
Some businesses haven't realised yet they need these professionals, and these are going to be the ones playing catch-up for a while.
