I asked a candidate about his salary expectations.

He humbly said, “50K , sir.”
But I knew the company had given me a free hand up to 85K.

So, without blinking, I sent him an offer letter for 85K.
He looked at me… eyes full of disbelief, gratitude, and dreams.

We shook hands. The office turned into a Bollywood set. Background music played. Everyone clapped.
And then…

…I woke up.

Because in real life?
You say 50K, they offer you 25K (on a good day).
And throw in the classic HR line:
“We can’t pay you much… but you’ll learn a lot.”
(Yes, mostly how to survive on instant noodles and internal screams.)

Moral of the story:
Those kind-hearted founders and HRs only exist in LinkedIn fairytales.
Stop falling for “I hired him above his expectation because I believed in talent” posts.
BLOCK these motivational soap operas.
