How many of you feel “wow” after looking at sophisticated people in the office?

I did.

The ones with perfect English. Perfect hair.
Dropping words like “alignment,” “bandwidth,” and “synergy.”
Wearing perfume like they are about to give a TED Talk.

I used to think they were better, smarter, and more efficient, as if they had it all figured out.

Turns out....that’s absolutely crap.

Sophistication is just a lifestyle.

It’s not a skillset. It’s not a mindset. It’s not a success.

I’ve seen:
- People who say all the right words but deliver absolutely nothing.
- Sales folks with the perfect accent but zero actual closures.
- SDEs with clean desks and MacBooks but can’t fix a basic bug.
- HRs who know every corporate phrase but can’t sit with someone who’s breaking down.

And then I’ve seen:
- People who fumble their English but bring pure clarity to a problem
- Coders in shorts with messy hair at their desks, who write genius-level logic
- Sales guys eating dal-chawal with their hands, smashing monthly targets
- HRs who can't pronounce your name properly but remember your pain.

So if you think sophistication = performance… please stop.

Sophistication is like waking up at 5 am. It’s cool if it’s you.

But it doesn’t impact your CTC, your performance, or your growth in any way.

I used to think I had to “act” a certain way to belong. Now I know the only thing worth acting on is your potential.

Be messy. Be quiet. Be loud. Be whatever the hell you want to be, just be real

Stop chasing Polish.
Start chasing progress.

Everything else is noise.
