Global economic uncertainty, inflation and slower trading conditions mixed in with wars & cost of living crisis ultimately impacts everyone.

I'm not going to sit here and fabricate fairy tail growth posts at a time when a lot of businesses are struggling.

I know CATEGORICALLY that a large amount of businesses are suffering as are agencies in the SEO space.

Now - if agencies are struggling, they're no doubt going to have clients who are - even IF you do a good job, peoples buying power is down, that means it's HARDER to get that ROI, and, in an industry that's being MASSIVELY disupted by AI, well, that's like "the perfect storm".

WE'RE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT.

Businesses are going to have clients who need more customers - where those customers ultimately are pulling their purse strings tight because they're getting shafted by everything from inflation to increased taxes.

We've got businesses with higher outgoings and more "balancing" the income/outgoings.

We've got AI disrupting everything including search.

Clients want MORE RESULTS during a time where Google wants MORE MONEY and subsequently they shrinking traffic because they want users to stay in the "google ecosystem" because, well, it drives more paid clicks and revenue.

And susbequently that leads to the point of my post:

WORKING WITH THE RIGHT BUSINESSES!

There are SO many businesses out there who ARE NOT A GOOD FIT FOR SEO! They just shouldn't do it? why? Because they are their own worst enemy.

These tend to be:

> Small businesses with overly "impatient" or "non understanding" people at the helm

- They are keen to hear how you can help them grow/scale but when it comes to doing anything about it - they are either slow, awkward, refuse to listen

- They are happy to get you to do as MUCH WORK as possible whilst withholding invoice payemtns

- People who refuse to listen and hire people just to effectively "talk over them"

- Businesses with poor credit ratings who extract cash and put "paying suppliers" last

- People who are put in a role who "think" because they've been in marketing for 30+ years means they can educate the very people they hired - effectively undermiming them

SEO is harder, it takes REAL dedication and transparency from the outset, but, it's NOT just about the expertise, it's about the RELATIONSHIP.

There's plenty of businesses who SEO would be viable for if the people in charge let the right people make decisions.

GOOD SEO happens when:

1. You have the right budget
2. You have the right expertise
3. You have a client whos fully open, understanding and willing to listen, approve, get things done
4. When you have a good workflow, managed, delivered
5. When there's equal transparency and understanding

SEO is challenging, not just from a SKILL perspective, but, because of the nature of it being the equivalent of "PAY NOW" get the goods later.
