6 months ago, I was able to do 25 short form written pieces, 0 long form written pieces and 1-2 YouTube video scripts per month.
Today, despite having more workload than ever before, I am able to do 35+ short form written pieces, 3-4 long form blogs and 3 YouTube scripts per month.
I’ve yet to hire anyone to help me (WIP, more on this soon) — the productivity unlock has come entirely from using AI.
My writing process is split into 4 parts:
(a) Idea generation (topic selection)
(b) Research
(c) Storytelling / narrative stitching
(d) Posting
In this functional AI demo video, I’ve shown how I use Grok for idea generation:
The pre-AI way of idea generation is to read newspapers, check Google Alerts, scroll on social media or (my way) wait for a friend/connection to share a topic!
The post-AI way of idea generation is to give an AI engine context about yourself & your task — let it parse the Internet for suitable topics.
I use 2 prompts on Grok (linked below)
(1) Last 7 days news synthesis (for LinkedIn & X posts)
(2) Last 30 days industry report finder (for YouTube videos)
The time spent on idea generation is now 1/4th and the use of multiple AI models in the research has cut time spent by 1/2 (I still feel the need to fact check because of LLM hallucination)
Note: The KEY with these prompts when asking for latest info is to specify “today is {date_today}” — else you will NOT get good quality output (big learning for me)
➡️Grok continues to remain the most powerful engine for topic selection because it has access to live X data which is rich with social chatter/discussions around macro economic data, public markets (esp. India), events / news (global) & geopolitics.
