We assumed it was a “nobody’s building for this” problem.

We were wrong.

Home care. Senior living. Caregiver apps. Emergency monitoring. Every corner already has a player.

So we looked at how they were actually doing.
Emoha spends ₹1.5 to earn ₹1.

Portea burned $93M.

Papa, backed by $242M in the US, shut down over care-quality complaints.

Well-funded. Well-intentioned. Still broke themselves.

Here’s the pattern, once you squint at it: every single one of them is built for the crisis. The fall, the diagnosis, the emergency.

Nobody’s built for before it.

We didn’t know it yet, but that’s the thread we’d end up pulling on for the rest of the week.
