Baat to karlo Yaar !

Recently a strange thing happened.

In our team a fresher joined in of our functions , on 1st day of office showed excitement, had unique ideas, looked fit for the role and we kind of felt its a good hire at that moment because Orgs have very simple expectation that new Joinee should have atleast few traits - dedicated, with ideas, knows what he/she is hired for.

Were happy to know that we got what we wanted but got a surprise next morning as Joinee started getting out of the different work related WhatsApp group. So we got worried , so our HR called but Joinee did not pick initially but after repeated call got a reply that " The work culture is not structured .

I and HR both felt shocked looked each other and said nothing.

My question is it the correct way to go ? Is this structured ?

I can understand people can have expectation with work culture , environment, work role etc which is judicious and they have all the right to choose what is good for them.

An organisation has spent countless hours in hiring a person and it welcomes with open arms but Joinee say bye without saying Goodbye.

Atleast the Joinee should have spoken to us and we could have told its a startup we are not structured like corporate but we offer freedom, ownership, abundant learning and caring.

Maybe still the Joinee would not have turned next day but atleast we were updated upfront.

I have a request for new Joinee - Plz do talk to Founder before you do not turn the next day - Itna to wo deserve karta hai.

Baat to kar lena.

P.S - Gender was not mentioned to avoid bias .
