This ain't going to happen if just the same companies, business houses and families are going to get bigger. It will happen when thousands of founders will emerge to create new businesses of all sizes- small, medium or large
For this to happen, one has to start up and step into an environment that helps you forward
So, both Rajeev Suri and me travel and give our time to the next bunch of founders who we can help to startup. Recently, we were at Huddle organised by Kerala Startup Mission that had over 2000+ aspiring founders !
So, I was delighted to speak at a networking event organised by the E-Cell IIT Madras at WeWork India HQ27 The Headquarters at Gurgaon.
They are on a tour in 9 cities to connect 1000+ startups, 150+ investors and 100+ enablers, organising startup networking events in multiple cities bringing VCs, new startup founders and ecosystem enablers together
Some highlights of what I shared withe founders basis their questions :
✳️ Many founders fail in the first 6-9 months due to lack of planning not lack of passion
- resources needed for their own monthly expenses and the company's
- Clarity on the problem they're working on and the solution
- Nature and amount of funding required
- which co founder will work on what
✳️ Planning for setbacks ie resilience quotient
- what if the first MVP fails
- what if a co founder leaves as they cannot sustain the setback
✳️ Having a network for help of all sorts
- Founder's life is a bit lonely and they need a circle to share, brainstorm and also, destress ( cannot emphasise this more given recent news )
- Events like these help in building one if you don't have one in the immediate circle
I have shared some networking tips in a recent post ( links in comments)
✳️ Visibility
- Who knows about your startup other than few who know you ?
- How will you get first customers to try the MVP ?
- If you're going to be a founder of a large company tomorrow, will you not respond to media queries or be visible then ? Start now even if your personality type is a bit less social to begin with
Thus, events like these and visibility through platforms like LinkedIn are important
✳️ Talent acquisition
- Do you know that prospective employees come to such events to identify founders they can work for ?
-You're going to need initial team that shares a vision and will sacrifice some compensation to get you off the ground, isn't it ?
I have always met such talent in events !
Thanks to the team that I also had a lovely photo with - you're embracing the spirit of entrepreneurship early and at BlueGreen Ventures we look forward to being part of your story just like we have been with many others
