As a user, I had zero inclination to click on any of the links shown in the sidebar.

(If I were conducting intensive research on the topic, I would—but for most of the simpler queries, I won't.)

It's strange that those links presented by the AI sort of convince me that it is factually correct as well.

One thing to realize is that this is NO LONGER a search engine.

This is an "assistant" that does the work for me. As a user, I have no incentive to sift through pages, regardless of whether they are optimized for SEO.

One can continue debating SEO, LLM SEO, GEO, and AEO... but I'd say, either you are unaware of where the industry is heading, or you are trying hard to stay that way.
