Every marketeer knows this: what looks like one magical day on the outside is in reality, months of hard work behind-the-scenes โ space planning, content curation, speaker outreach, agency orchestration, logistics, partner alignment, audience generation... and the list goes on.
As I pause and reflect โ proud, a little exhausted, but mostly inspired โ here are a few honest takeaways Iโm carrying forward as we begin thinking about Adobe Summit next year.
1. Big events like Summit arenโt just a marketing win โ theyโre a masterclass in ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ-๐๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ก๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.
From sales & BDR teams ensuring the right customers show up, to solution consultants shaping the content, to engineers & product specialists supporting experiencesย โ it truly takes a village and grateful for the team I have the honour to work with.
2. ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฒ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ .ย This year, we had speakers who didnโt just show up โ they showed heart.
โHarish Bhat reminded us that courage, compassion, and care are timeless leadership values.
โ Satya Ramaswamy from Air India redefined transformation โ turning legacy into legendary through grit and focus.
โ Shuvadip Banerjee distilled the art of brand personalisation at scale by being bold.
โ Ramesh Lakshminarayanan inspired us with human-centred tech and the importance of trust in growth
- Anu Pentareddy gave us a master class on real life examples & immense possibilities on AgenticAI
3. ๐๐ ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฒย -Even with months of planning, things will change on the ground โ and thatโs okay.ย Last-minute swaps, timing overruns, event & tech glitchesโฆ..grace under pressure matter more than perfection.
4. Be guided by Data but ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐ง ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ - We often obsess over event KPIs โ Pipeline, sessions attended, meetings set up โ but some of the most meaningful outcomes are intangible.ย That unplanned CXO connection over coffee; a kind comment that deeply resonated with an attendee, that silent joke that keeps you smiling.
5. ๐๐ก๐ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ-๐๐ซ๐๐๐ค ๐๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ. How do we get people back in their seats on time, energised, and ready to respect the stage? Open to ideas on this one!
6. ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ค๐๐ฒโฆManaging time between brand content and customer conversations is still something Iโm working on. Keen to hear on whatโs worked for you all.
