And I thought scamsters were actually getting smarter... ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Then this landed in my inbox.
One glance, and I knew it was a scam.
Why?
1. The email ID โ Doesn't remotely match the sender's identity.
2. The name โ "Alakh Pandeys"? If you're going to impersonate someone, at least get the name right.
3. The subject line โ "PW (PhysicsWallah)" with nothing else. No context, no personalization.
4. It was sent to my personal email โ Anyone who knows me knows my work conversations don't happen there.
I mean... c'mon guys.
At least challenge your future victim's intellect a little. ๐
On a serious note, phishing attacks are becoming more frequent, and many of them are far more sophisticated than this one. The best defense is to pause for a few seconds and look for the small inconsistencies before clicking anything.
Sometimes, a 10-second sanity check is all it takes.
