As a small business owner trying to bring honest, healthy food to our customers, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to sustain operations on the Zomato platform.
We were promised a 2.5x revenue increase through Zomato Ads, but in reality, we’ve only seen rising costs without returns. If the promised results aren’t delivered, why are ad fees still deducted from our payouts?
There’s a growing frustration among many of us:
Frequent manager changes every 3 weeks, leading to no accountability.
Hyperpure's inconsistent quality – we received substandard ingredients that don't match our food quality standards.
Lack of transparency in charges – it's unclear how commissions and fees are calculated.
The burden has shifted to restaurant partners, forcing many of us to raise menu prices on Zomato just to survive.
We’re not against digital platforms—we’re for fair, transparent, and accountable partnerships. But Zomato needs to listen to voices on the ground. Instead of building a sustainable relationship with partners, the system feels more extractive every month.
If this continues, many of us are considering moving away from aggregator platforms entirely and building our own order + delivery stack using third-party logistics.
Zomato, if you want to continue being the backbone of food delivery in India, it’s time to keep your promises and respect your partners.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Partner
