1️⃣ Everything is moving much faster. March 2025 could be looked back on as a major month for gen AI development.
2️⃣ Gemini and Claude have really caught up with ChatGPT and offer points of difference. Gemini has better multimodal tools and Drive integrations. Claude has MCP (altho OpenAI will adopt this). ChatGPT still at 60% market share.
3️⃣ China making waves. DeepSeek crashed markets in January with its open source LLM. Manus, the general purpose agent, caused a stir in March.
4️⃣ Multimodal tools in chatbots have got so good, you wonder why you would need an extra image generator. BUT Midjourney is still excellent.
5️⃣ Loads of diversity in video generation... Hedra and Higgsfield have entered out list. Veo 2 could really make a big market share grab for Google.
6️⃣ Google Gemini is a long way ahead of ChatGPT for multimodal, despite hype for the latter.
7️⃣ Vibe coding is all the rage. Cursor x Loveable the clear winners.
