Not only because it is a black hat but also because
😿 It's useless to get 100 bot or random upvotes who have zero interest in what you've built.
😿 You miss out on the feedback from real people to improve your product.
I launched the AI Email Signature Generator on Product Hunt today.
Within an hour, I got several emails and LinkedIn DMs asking me to "collab" or "partner" with money in lieu of upvotes.
Of course, I didn't bat an eye.
So what should you do instead?
Well, I have done several launches over the year, and here's what can move the needle on those upvotes-
1. Build amazing stuff.
2. Build amazing stuff.
3. Build amazing stuff.
4. Get other makers, partners, and investors to help you distribute the launch.
5. Create incentives for employees to evangelize the launch.
6. Schedule in advance and add as many details as possible (PH now rewards transparent and more info, it seems.)
7. Have visuals that show your product and benefits clearly.
8. Be active in the PH community and increase your followers. (Whenever you hunt a product, your followers get notified by email.)
