During the auction, Punjab Kings reportedly got confused and picked the wrong Shashank Singh. They wanted to “return” the 32-year old player but were prevented by the auctioneer.
If I was him my morale would be shattered. He’s not a young cricketer. He’s 32 and has been a journey man in the IPL with various franchises. Social media was ablaze with people feeling ‘bad’ for him.
But instead of wallowing in an existential crisis, he saw this as a chance to prove his worth. The big moment came in yesterday — Gujarat Titans v/s Punjab Kings and, he grabbed it.
With Punjab almost losing, our “accidental boy,” steps up. He played the knock of his life — scoring 61 off 29, grabbing the win for PBKS and becoming the man of the match🏆
Shashank’s story is a testament to the power of resilience. It's a reminder that you are the king/queen of your own destiny. Take what life throws at you - it's your response that will define you :)
And, don’t take social media so seriously. Head down, cut the noise and eyes on the prize.
The Story of The Shashank Redemption has a lot for us to learn like everything in sports has a parallel to the real world.
PS: for all those complaining - more IPL stories soon. I promise!
