A $2 billion company removed me from their affiliate program after I met the founder.

Context: I run GenPPT (AI presentation maker) and I wrote a "top 10 AI presentation tools" article that ranks on Google. When readers click a tool and buy, I earn a commission. Their tool was on that list.

I even met their founder at a summit a few days before. Friendly chat, handshake, feedback exchanged. But two days later: I was removed

And honestly? Fair game. They decide who promotes them.

But here's what they don't control: the article. I do.

So I:
→ Moved them to the last position on the lists
→ Reached out to competitors I know
→ Negotiated a higher commission + they feature my tool in their article

Now the same Google traffic either converts to my own product or earns me a better commission. Win-win.

The lesson for small companies: you might not have the biggest budget, but if you control the rankings, you control where the traffic flows.

Big companies rent attention. SEO experts own it.
