Being an entrepreneur is not easy. You have to define your own vision, design your own strategic long-term and short-term visions and stay focused in the daily pursuit of your goals. You have to be disciplined, motivated, focused and productive. You have to form partnerships, be systematic and lead every department in your business.

It’s much easier to be an employee. As an employee, you go to work for someone else, you report to someone else, and you leave the hassles of the job behind when you return home at the end of your day. You are responsible for small projects, but they do not define you, your meaning or what you get out of it on a personal level.

Fear. Growing up, society tells us to get a secure job and be financially stable. It tells us doing things on our own is risky and you will probably end up homeless. I was in that mentality for a couple years after college. Until I finally realized that I was losing more sacrificing my dreams for a measly pay check and a time clock. I faced my fear of failure and committed to being my own boss and creating my own destination. Everyone told me I was crazy. Some still do. And everyone else says they wish they could have the courage to do it but they are afraid of not being able to pay the bills. I quit my job without a plan. I put my back against the wall. Fast forward 15 months and I have 2 successfully growing businesses. I almost didn’t though. I almost let fear win. It takes a lot of faith to become an entrepreneur, and a lot of strength as there are always going to be massive road blocks and failures. It’s how you handle them that determines your success!
