You may have a great product or idea, but lack the necessary guidance, market experience, or knowledge to take it to the next level. That’s where a mentor comes in, with the wisdom and confidence to help you clear those roadblocks that are holding your startup back.
According to Rhett Morris of Endeavor Insight, 33% of tech firm founders who are mentored by successful entrepreneurs went on to become top performers. Having somebody you can lean on when major decisions have to be made, or even just when you need a sounding board who has already been there and done that, is super useful.
But not everyone will have access to mentors. If you don’t, seek out wisdom from inspirational founders you admire from other sources, like books, articles, or podcasts. And in the meantime, focus on building out your professional network, which can be just as important. And then, when you make it to the top, pay it forward and share your own hard-earned wisdom.
