Why do some buyers want to waste their time when acquiring a domain? Two weeks
ago I received a $10,000 offer via an Afternic broker. The offer was only 1/3 of
my BIN price but I actually accepted it, with a note to say that the big
discount was for cashflow reason.
Surprisingly, the broker negotiated the price up to include their commission, so
that I would receive $10k net.
I was delighted, because I picked up the domain only a month ago from the
garbage dump.
Then, one week passed with no action. I felt the deal was shaky so asked the
broker. I was told the buyer was short of fund so needed some time to get it.
Another week passed. This morning I contacted the broker again and was told the
buyer was gone.
What has the buyer gained in playing this game?
