I've published two Amazon bestsellers with the second one ranking #1 on overall Amazon store for 23 hours straight beating even the likes of Jay Shetty and others. All the generic book marketing advice you can search and find on the internet. I'm sharing with you some novel and original ideas that I have used for marketing my book. Here's what I did: 1. I write business non-fiction anthologies. To make readers find book educational and entertaining, I rope in a mix of interesting credible contributors from around the world. 2. We release a complementary copy of the book so they know what to expect in the full version: https://twitter.com/GrowthMediaAI/status/1342191886857998336 3. We plan stunts that can potentially go viral to get attention to the book. With the first book, we involved Mr. Amitabh Kant and Dr. Unnat Pandit from NITI AAYOG, Government of India to endorse the book. That made headlines in print, digital and TV. In the second book, I hired a Monkey in an attempt to make the promo video go viral: https://youtu.be/iimBPJTvadg This was a novel idea for marketing, rarely marketers use pet influencers in their marketing experiments. 4. Twitter Trend - We planned a Twitter Trend and we asked all our book contributors and friends to tweet together at the prime time (9:30 PM IST). We trended the book on Twitter beating many political and Republic TV's paid trends. 5. We launched a Facebook frame. You can check it on my profile. All our contributors, readers and supporters applied that frame to their profile thereby creating awareness for the book before it is launched. 6. Chrome Extension: I launched a free useful Chrome Extension that has subtle ad about the book. Similar competing Chrome Extensions were not effective and paid, so I made it free and indirectly created awareness for the book through distributing a premium product for free. 7. Email Marketing: We partner with other bloggers and marketers and send emails to their list. 8. Build an audience way before you are going to write a book. If you have a warm audience selling a few thousand copies is very easy. However, most self-published books are never able to sell more than 500-1000 because they start searching for the audience after the book is published. Hope this helps. All the best! 🙂 P.S. Share with me whenever your book comes out, I will tweet for you!
