Startup Investments in 2020 #Post2:

Startups from Bangalore & Delhi raised close to $6.5B overall, that's more than
75% of the total funding raised by the startups across the country in 2020.

The top gainers were BYJU'S & OYO raising $1.02B and $807M respectively.

WRT Sectors - #Edtech emerged as a winner, thanks to the pandemic - raising
$1.8B overall, followed by #Fintech - raising $1.5B

Surprisingly #Proptech garnered $1.3B in 2020, securing 3rd spot leading the
rest.

Fintech saw a total of 123 deals, followed by Retail/E-commerce with 99 deals.

Fintech is indeed an interesting space to be in, & it's here to dominate the hot
seat for the next few years!

8 startups become unicorns including Razorpay, Unacademy, Postman & Zerodha.

Overall there is a 30% decline compared to 2019, and the no of deals is even
less than what it was in 2015.

That's how the investment scenario looks now, but the sentiment is +ve & we can
expect a gradual increase in 2021.

What do you think?
