Plagiarism does not occur by accident. You don't copy somebody else's content,
removing things that link back to the original author, by mistake. Watermarks on
photographs don't get erased by mistake. It is deliberate.
If an idea gets replicated, it might be a genuine mistake. Because two people
can have the same thought at the exact same time. But having the exact same
thought as another and articulating it verbatim can happen only by divine
miracle. And there is no such thing.
And finally - Just because the plagiarist apologises, it doesn't absolve them of
the act itself. Because when you think of it, they apologised only because they
were caught.
I created a post calling out someone who plagiarised my post. After it picked up
traction, I received an apology. I offered to delete the post calling her out,
but in 30 minutes. 29 minutes later, she pings me pressuring me to delete the
post. I told her she has no 'bloody' right to make demands. But I deleted the
post anyway.
And now, after I deleted the post, she is creating a shit storm because I used
'bloody' in my conversation with her. She is the victim now. Oh, the gall on the
girl!
